Workshop "Recommendations for Boosting the Potential of Crowdfunding to Support R&I" to be held on 18 November 2016 in Brussels
An invitation only workshop "Recommendations for Boosting the Potential of Crowdfunding to Support R&I" is taking place in Brussels on Friday, 18th November 2016, from 9.00 - 14.00 CET. The workshop is organised by the “Crowdfunding 4 Innovation” study consortium in close collaboration with DG Research & Innovation of the European Commission.
The purpose of this workshop is to validate recommendations and discuss potential policy measures for boosting the potential of crowdfunding to support R&I. The 20-30 participants will represent European public stakeholders, policy makers, and industry thought leaders active on both the demand and supply side.
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research & Innovation (DG RTD) is investigating how crowdfunding and other forms of alternative finance could support research and innovation (R&I). The European Crowdfunding Network, in consortium with EY, Open Evidence and University Politecnico di Milano are conducting a Study on “Assessing the Potential for Crowdfunding and Other Forms of Alternative Finance to support Research and Innovation”
The study’s main objectives are to understand the role of crowdfunding in supporting R&I, identify challenges, drivers and barriers leading to recommendations on what should be done to unleash the potential of crowdfunding for Research and Innovation.
